Hortense Arrives
Wind and rain from a new tropical storm Saturday knocked down power lines and flooded roads on Martinique, prompting authorities in the Caribbean to close an airport and open emergency shelters.
Martinque shut down its international airport for about two hours Saturday afternoon out of fears that Tropical Storm Hortense’s heavy rains would flood roads leading to the airport.
