Driver Who Made Wrong Turn Shot

Compiled From Wire Services

A teenage driver who got lost and made a wrong turn onto a dead-end street was shot to death Sunday by gang members, police said. The shooters got away.

Raul Felix, 17, of Los Angeles was shot about 1 a.m. and died later at a hospital, sheriff’s spokesman Bob Killeen said.

Felix and a friend had taken a date home but got lost trying to find their way back to a freeway, Killeen said. When they turned onto a dead-end street, gang members in two cars blocked their path and opened fire.

Felix’s friend was not wounded. Neither Felix nor his friend had any gang affiliation, Killeen said.
