University of Michigan forward Maurice Taylor announced he would forgo his senior season and turn pro. Taylor averaged 12.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, down nearly two points and one rebound per game from his sophomore season. He averaged 12.4 points during his freshman season and was the Big Ten freshman of the year. … University of Colorado assistant football coach Ben Gregory, who played two seasons for the Buffalo Bills, died of a heart attack late Thursday. Gregory, 50, was stricken at his home. Team officials said he showed no signs of illness and was seemingly fine after the team’s sixth football spring practice session earlier in the day.
