Linerud Leads CV Gymnasts

Lindsay Linerud began her fourth year of Greater Spokane League gymnastics with flair Thursday.

Linerud won three of the four events and the all-around title to guide Central Valley to a sweep of a season-opening, four-way meet at North Central.

Linerud won the vault, balance beam and floor exercise. She scored 33.75 in the all-around, with teammate Lindsay Zacher (31.55) in second place and NC freshman Amber Baines in third. CV’s Emily Roberts won the uneven bars.

Linerud was fourth place in the all-around at last year’s district and regional meets.

CV’s score of 158.15 was 20 points better than runner-up Shadle Park. The host Indians were third, ahead of Lewis and Clark.

Other GSL teams open the season Tuesday at Mead.
