Rose Bowl Ticket Pool Expanded Students, Faculty, Retirees, Alumni Have New Chance, As Do Season Ticket Holders

Rose Bowl ticket saga update: Washington State University alumni, faculty and staff members, retirees and students have another chance to buy them.

Past and present Cougs can compete for these passes to Pasadena beginning at 9 a.m. today.

It’s the latest widening of the net for people desperate for Rose Bowl tickets. An announcement on Saturday gave each season ticket holder the right to buy one Rose Bowl ticket.

“Now that we have satisfied our season ticket holders, we want to give as many loyal Cougars as possible a chance to go to this game,” WSU athletic director Rick Dickson said. He said he regrets not being able to sell tickets to everyone who wants to go, but thinks this compromise is the fairest fix.

Students at the Pullman campus have from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today to buy one voucher each at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum box office. Each voucher must be presented later to the Rose Bowl box office in Pasadena along with the student’s identification card.

A total of 1,000 tickets will be sold to students at all four WSU campuses. Branch-campus students can buy tickets at their campus this week. But students who bought vouchers last week can’t buy more.

Alumni, faculty and staff members and retirees have until Wednesday to order their tickets via self-addressed envelope. But there’s a catch: Ordering a ticket doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily get one. One thousand alumni tickets and 500 employee tickets will be awarded through a drawing on Dec. 15 and mailed to the winners of the Coug lottery. Those whose names aren’t drawn will be notified, too.

Here’s how to order:

For alumni: Send name (current name and name when enrolled, if different), class year, home address and mailing address. Also include phone number, Visa or Mastercard number and expiration date and WSU ID number, if known. Mail to WSU Alumni Rose Bowl Tickets, P.O. Box 609, Pullman, Wash. 99163. Tickets will be mailed the week of Dec. 15.

Faculty and staff members and retirees: Send the same information listed above, plus work phone number and employee ID number to Faculty/Staff Rose Bowl Tickets, P.O. Box 837, Pullman, Wash. 99163.

Alumni and “friends” who requested tickets through the 1-800-GO-COUGS line but aren’t Cougar Club members or season ticket holders will be entered into the alumni drawing automatically.

Information is available online at https://cougnet.wsu.edu/rosebowl or by calling the WSU’s advancement office at 509-335-1897. Tickets can also be ordered through the Web site.
