Prosecutors charged a 36-year-old Rathdrum man Monday with sexually assaulting a girl over a nearly five-year period.

Larry E. Todd is charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual battery of a child. He was released from the Kootenai County Jail on his own recognizance Monday afternoon after appearing before a magistrate, a jail deputy said.

Criminal complaints filed by prosecutors allege Todd had sexual contact with the girl from January 1993 to November 1997. The girl, who is not named in court documents, was 16 when the most recent contact occurred.

Police reports say Todd knew the victim. , DataTimes
