Fading Rangers Lose Again

Around the NHL

Goaltender Garth Snow only had to make 14 saves in extending his unbeaten streak to 14 games as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 2-1 Sunday night.

The air-tight Philadelphia defense held the Rangers to merely 15 shots.

Pat Falloon and Janne Niinimaa scored for the Flyers.

New York is winless in its last seven (0-5-2) and has just one win in its last 11 games.

Rich Pilon scored for the first time in more than two years, and the New York Islanders converted twice on their woeful power play in a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh.
