Richmond Opens With Win

Dawn Staley hit two free throws with 17.9 seconds remaining and had a steal at the buzzer Sunday as Richmond came from behind to defeat Colorado 80-77 in an American Basketball League playoff opener at Richmond, Va.

The Rage and the Xplosion will play the second game of their best-of-three league semifinal series Tuesday in Denver. The Rage, missing six of its first eight shots in the game, trailed by 15 points at halftime.

Quest 94, Lasers 69

Nikki McCray scored 35 points to lead the visiting Columbus Quest to an easy 94-69 victory over the San Jose Lasers in the first game of their best-of-three playoff series.
