Smith Reappointed To Utility Commission

Gov. Phil Batt on Thursday reappointed Marsha Smith to a new six-year term on the Public Utilities Commission.

Smith, an attorney, was the commission’s director of policy and external affairs before being elevated to the regulatory panel by former Gov. Cecil Andrus in January 1991. That term expired on Monday.

Smith, who is paid $70,000 and must be confirmed by the state Senate, served as president of the three member panel for 3-1/2 years through April 1995.
