World No. 1 Pete Sampras said he’s happy to be kept in the background at Wimbledon - and he doesn’t care who steals the spotlight.

The three-time champion, who moved into a fourth-round match with Petr Korda after beating Byron Black in straight sets, said the hype surrounding the success of Britons Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski had made up for the absence of Andre Agassi through injury.

“When Agassi’s here he’s the center of all the tabloids and with Henman and Rusedski playing well, that’s perfect,” Sampras said after winning 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 Monday in 1 hour, 15 minutes.

“I prefer being not really talked about and just playing my tennis really. I prefer not being the center of attention.”
