Woman Arrested After Robbery Try At Restaurant

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane Valley woman was arrested Monday after the attempted robbery of a Greenacres restaurant.

Authorities said Brenda L. Lyons, 30, walked into Huffman’s Restaurant and Lounge, 17927 E. Appleway, about 7 p.m. and handed the bartender a note.

Claiming to have a handgun in her purse, Lyons demanded $200 from the man, who gave the threatening note to the business owner, authorities said. He told her he didn’t have the money.

When deputies arrived, Lyons ran out of the restaurant and into a nearby tavern, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies arrested Lyons when she tried to leave the bar.

Lyons is being held in the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of attempted robbery.
