A Des Moines man celebrating his 25th birthday at a local nightclub was fatally shot during a brawl, and another young man was arrested for investigation of homicide, police said.

Polreath Vorn was with friends at the Savanh Cafe early Sunday. A gang came into the club, and apparently didn’t like one of Vorn’s friends, said his sister, Sara Vorn.

A fight broke out, involving a large number of people, police Sgt. David Ritter said.

Vorn was shot three times in the back, his sister said.
