The Miami Heat’s Tim Hardaway, stopped for racing his car in excess of 110 mph in a 40 mph zone, cursed police and told them he had friends in high places, Miami Beach police said.

Hardaway was driving a 1997 Ferrari when he was pulled over at 2 a.m. Friday.

“I have friends in high places who can make it very unpleasant for you,” a police report quotes Hardaway as telling officers.

“If he arrests me, I’ll take him down,” Hardaway allegedly said, referring to the officer who wrote the ticket.

Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard Marcus Brown was charged with five counts of unlawful transaction with a minor after an incident in which three high school girls were hospitalized for excessive alcohol.

Brown came under investigation last week after the incident involving five students in the Upward Bound program at Murray State University, where Brown played college basketball from 1992-96.

Murray State officials said the five students involved in the drinking incident have been dismissed from the program.

Brown was the Blazers’ second-round pick, No. 46 overall, in the 1996 draft. He was on the injured list this past season.
