Four Whitworth Basketball Players Chosen All-Conference

Senior guard Nate Williams and junior center Ben Heimerman of Whitworth have been selected first-team all-Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges.

Williams, who is from Portland, led the conference in 3-point shooting (33 of 61 for .541 percent) and was eighth in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game. Last season, Williams was named to the second team.

Heimerman, from Gonzaga Prep, finished the regular season second in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and fifth in scoring with a 16.3 ppg.

Whitworth senior women Jen Tissue and Sherri Northington were named to the women’s NCIC second-team for the second consecutive season.

Northington, from Puyallup, led the conference in rebounding (9.8 rpg) and scored 10.8 ppg. Tissue, a Shadle Park graduate who is also a soccer standout, scored 14.5 ppg and was third in the NCIC in free-throw shooting (33 of 44 for .818).
