Five Injured After Drive-Through Crash

Compiled From Wire Services

A man stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake and crashed his car through a McDonald’s window Saturday, injuring himself and four others inside the crowded restaurant.

Police said it was unclear whether the victims, which included a 2-yearold girl and a 6-year-old, were hit by the car or injured by debris. The 2-year-old was among the most seriously injured, with a cut that required about 20 stitches to her hand, police said.

The driver, a 52-year-old man, was pulling into a parking space when he inadvertently hit the accelerator, police said. The car jumped the curb and crashed into the McDonald’s.

The McDonald’s was temporarily closed, but no major structural damage was found.
