Six Teenagers Hurt In Pickup Accident

Six Spokane teenagers were injured Monday when one of them wrecked his pickup truck near Upriver Dam. A seventh passenger wasn’t hurt.

The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. near Upriver Drive and Frederick Avenue, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Jeremy Claggett, 18, was driving a 1969 Ford west on Upriver when he lost control while turning onto Frederick, troopers said. The truck flipped onto its side and hit a power pole.

Hospitalized were Claggett, with back injuries; Cortez Couch, 19, with a sore neck; Ryan Drake, 17, with a broken left arm and a concussion; and Patrick King, 18, with muscle strains.

John Mooris and Craig Green, both 16, were only slightly hurt and were treated at the scene. Damien Lynd, 18, was not injured.
