Malaysia agreed Tuesday to let a French climber try to scale the world’s tallest building, after arresting him last week when he tried the feat without permission.

Alain Robert plans to make his attempt on the 1,483-foot Petronas Twin Towers on April 5, Deputy Transport Minister Mohamad Ali Rustam said.

Robert, 34, has pledged to raise funds for charity with the climb, his latest adventure since he began scaling buildings at 13.

His successful conquests of skyscrapers - including the Empire State Building in 1995 - have variously earned him nicknames of “Spiderman,” “Human fly,” and “Madman.”

Robert reached the 60th floor of the 88-story building last week when police pulled him in through a window and arrested him. The government later dropped trespassing charges.
