Police Name Teens Killed In Wreck

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police have identified the three teenagers killed Sunday in a Peaceful Valley car crash that also left two people injured.

Killed in the early morning accident were Katherine Campbell, 18, Alicia Easterwood, 14, and John Rohloff, 18.

Autopsy results show that each died from severe head injuries as a result of the crash, police said.

The teenagers died when the 1986 Buick Regal they were riding in missed a turn on westbound Clarke Avenue about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, police said. The car smashed through a guardrail, plunged down a steep embankment, hit a tree and a power pole.

The car’s driver, James A. Vreen, 20, as well as two other passengers - a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy - survived.

Vreen faces three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault. Additional charges may be filed against Vreen, police said.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The results will be available later this month, police said.
