Thanksgiving Day Dinners Offered

Nina Culver Correspondent

Today is Thanksgiving, a day of giving thanks for all of our blessings. These days, the day has also become synonymous with turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.

Central United Methodist Church will help bring these traditional Thanksgiving foods to the poor by serving a free community Thanksgiving dinner today from 1 to 3 p.m. The church is located at 518 W. Third.

City Gate, located at 114 S. Madison, will also serve a Thanksgiving dinner today from 1 to 5 p.m.

Worship service planned today

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2 W. Third, will hold a special worship service today at 10:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring nonperishable food items to be donated to the Spokane Food Bank. Monetary donations can be designated for the Food Bank or for Lutheran World Relief.
