Love Leads Buick Challenge

Davis Love III shot a third-round 5-under-par 67 to take a two-shot lead over fellow-Georgian Stewart Cink at the $1.2 million Buick Challenge in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Love broke the course and tournament record of 200 for 54 holes with a 17-under 199.

Hale Irwin shot a course-record 62 to open a five-stroke lead in the Vantage Championship in Clemmons, N.C., moving closer to becoming the first golfer to win $2 million in a season.

Irwin’s two-round total of 126 tied the Senior Tour opening-36-hole record set by Jim Colbert in the 1994 GTE West Classic. His 62 broke the Tanglewood championship course record.

Betsy King and Annika Sorenstam moved into a first-place tie after the third round of the $600,000 CoreStates Betsy King Classic in Kutztown, Pa., at 11-under 205.
