Teenage Transient Arrested In Whitworth College Dormitory

From Staff And Wire Reports

An 18-year-old transient was arrested Wednesday after being seen inside some Whitworth College dormitory rooms.

A student called college security when she saw a man in her room at Keola Hall, Spokane County sheriff’s deputies said. He had rifled through her purse and backpack, she told deputies.

Deputies arrested Isaiah R. Trammel in Keola Hall. He showed false identification, deputies said.

While he was being interviewed, several other students told deputies a man had been in their rooms.

Deputies seized cash, rolled coins and a pager. It is not known if the items were stolen, deputies said.

Investigators are looking into a possible connection between the Whitworth incident and burglaries in a Gonzaga University dormitory on Tuesday.

Trammel remained in the Spokane County Jail on a count of residential burglary as well as five outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
