Compiled From Wire Services

Hidden Lake, ridden by Richard Migliore, stretched her winning streak to four with a solid victory over 3-year-old Ajina in the Beldame Stakes for fillies and mares at Belmont Park in New York. She’ll race in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Hollywood Park on Nov. 8.

Souvenir Copy, ridden by Gary Stevens, won the $200,000 Norfolk Stakes by 1-3/4 lengths over Old Trieste at Santa Anita in Arcadia, Calif., covering the mile in 1:36. The 2-year-old colt is expected to make his next start in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

Southern California jockey star Patrick Valenzuela remained jailed on $50,000 bail in Arcadia, following his arrest for investigation of spousal abuse.

Valenzuela, who has a history of substance abuse and recently married for the third time, was taken into custody without incident on Friday, his 35th birthday.

With Jose Santos aboard, heavily favored turf specialist Chief Bearhart took the lead at the top of the stretch and went on to a 2-1/4-length victory over Down the Aisle in the $1 million, 1-1/2-mile Canadian International at Woodbine in Toronto.
