Raptors Want Into Wnba
The Toronto Raptors are interested in acquiring a Women’s National Basketball Association expansion team after the league’s successful inaugural season.
Raptors president Richard Peddie said he has spoken with WNBA president Val Ackerman recently about the Raptors’ interest in the National Basketball Association-sponsored league.
After the WNBA’s championship game Saturday, Ackerman said the league is making plans for expansion. Currently, there are teams in New York, Charlotte, Cleveland, Houston, Utah, Los Angeles, Sacramento and Phoenix.
