Cda Police Seek Reserve Volunteers

The Coeur d’Alene Police department is accepting applications for volunteer reserve officers.

Applicants must turn 21 by the time they complete a three-month state training academy in March, said officer Randy Miller. Academy classes will be held in Kootenai County on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and selected Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend classes will run all day.

Reserve officers are required to volunteer at least 16 hours a month, Miller said. Duties include working summer park patrols, providing security at sporting events and periodically riding with full-time officers.

Applications are available at the police station, 710 Mullan Ave.
