Turkish Jets Strafe Kurds Based In Iraq
Turkish fighter jets blasted Kurdish rebel positions in northern Iraq for an eighth day Monday, sending guerrillas fleeing toward the Iranian border, the official Anatolia news agency said.
The opposition Iraqi National Congress claimed that Iraq, Syria and Iran were alarmed at Turkey’s incursion into its neighbor’s territory and had sent troops to reinforce their borders with the Kurdish areas.
