Associated Press

Karim Scott scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Eastern Washington defeated Montana 77-66 Saturday night, snapping a 10-game losing streak to the Grizzlies.

The Eagles (14-10, 8-6 Big Sky) won for the fifth time in their last six games and clinched their first winning season since 1990-91.

Montana (15-13, 8-7) trailed the entire game but went on an 18-6 run to pull within 64-58 with 5:20 left. Mike Warhank scored all but one of the Grizzlies’ points in the run and hit four 3-point shots.

Eastern Washington responded with a 7-0 run to stretch its lead to 13 with 2:52 left and put the game out of reach.

In the first half, the Eagles led by as many as 14 points before Montana closed to within 37-32.

Scott was 8 for 20 from the field. EWU’s Shannon Taylor came off the bench and hit 5 of 6 3-point attempts to finish with 17 points.

Warhank finished with a school-record nine 3-pointers, breaking the previous record of six, and scored a game-high 33 points for Montana.
