Fund-Raiser For Hamp’s Camp Kicks Off Today

From Staff And Wire Reports

Hamp’s Camp, an annual summer youth camp run by the Full Gospel Mission, will have its fund-raising kick-off luncheon today at noon at the Stockyards Inn, 3827 E. Boone.

Camp organizers will announce several changes in the program, including plans to relocate the event to Camp Sweyolakan on Lake Coeur d’Alene. This will allow the camp to increase its capacity to 250 children.

Organizers also will introduce a scholarship program in the memory of the founder of the camp, Rev. C.E. Hamp, who died last May. Each middle school and high school in Spokane County will receive a college scholarship for one child. High schools will receive $200 scholarships and middle schools will receive savings bonds.

The cost of the luncheon is $8.95.

This year’s Hamp’s Camp is scheduled for June 20-27. Organizers are accepting donations to subsidize the cost. For more information, call James Hamp at 534-2168. , DataTimes
