Wall barricades Chiefs during Everett’s victory

The Spokesman-Review

EVERETT – The Spokane Chiefs kept running into a Wall on Tuesday night.

Goaltender Michael Wall made 34 saves to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 2-0 win over the Chiefs in Western Hockey League play at Everett Events Center.

Wall recorded his sixth shutout of the season and handed Spokane its fourth blanking of the year.

The Silvertips (18-10-6-2) are 2-1-1 against Spokane (11-17-7-1) this year. Everett remained in second place in the five-team Western Conference U.S. Division. Spokane brings up the rear in the division.

Alex Leavitt recorded his team-high 19th assist for Everett and scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period, on a rebound off Shaun Heshka’s shot.

Karel Hromas scored midway through the third period for the Silvertips after taking a feed from Leavitt behind the Spokane net.

Spokane returns home to play Kelowna at 7 tonight in the Arena.
