LOS ANGELES — Mwadi Mabika scored 12 of her 23 points in overtime, and Lisa Leslie added 23 points to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to an 87-80 victory Friday night over the San Antonio Silver Stars.

Mwadi made all four of her shots in overtime, including a 3-pointer, and made three free throws to give the Sparks their third consecutive victory and eighth in 10 games.

Los Angeles moved within percentage points of first-place Seattle in the WNBA’s Western Conference.

Shannon Johnson scored 20 points and Margo Dydek added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Silver Stars.

Marie Ferdinand, San Antonio’s leading scorer, dislocated her right elbow after running into teammate Latoya Thomas and left the game with 16:23 left.
