Jenna Griffitts had a match-high 15 kills and added three blocks Thursday night as Coeur d’Alene posted a 25-21, 25-21, 25-18 win over visiting Sandpoint (4-3) in Inland Empire League volleyball.

Jami Anderson added five kills and was a major contributor when the Vikings (4-4) fought back from an eight-point deficit in the middle game.

Elsewhere in the IEL, Amy Lawson finished with four blocks, and she and Renee Bordelon combined for 19 kills to lift first-place Lake City (9-0) to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Lakeland (3-5). LC’s Lauren Stern added 37 assists. … Jackie Murinko finished with 10 kills, and Beth Samuel added 11 assists and 16 digs while leading host Post Falls (2-6) to a 3-1 win over Lewiston (2-7).

Corina Beyer totaled 17 kills and six aces, and served the final six points of the 25-22 third game as visiting Timberlake (4-1) posted a 3-1 win at Priest River (2-3) in the Intermountain League. … Also in the IML, Jenna Robinson had seven kills and Erin Sather added 25 assists to guide St. Maries (5-0) toward a 3-0 sweep of visiting Bonners Ferry (0-5).

•At Harrison, Hannah Nyrob served 10 consecutive points in the first game to launch first-place Kootenai (8-0) toward a 3-0 sweep of visiting Mullan (4-3) in the North Star League. Hanna Thomas and Darcy Collins of the Warriors combined for 18 consecutive points in the middle game. … Also in the NSL, Vicki Sifford contributed six aces to help visiting Lakeside (3-4) to a 3-0 sweep at Coeur d’Alene Charter (0-8). … Wallace (7-1) rolled to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Post Falls Christian (1-7).

Boys soccer

Joe Hanich scored twice off headers, including a goal in the final minute, as first-place Coeur d’Alene (9-2-1, 6-0-1) edged host Lakeland 2-1 in IEL play at Rathdrum. Mickey Webb of the Hawks (0-10-1, 0-8-1) scored at 62 minutes to tie the match at 1. … Also in the IEL, Brett Henry scored to the upper-left corner from 20 yards out to cap Sandpoint’s 2-0 win at Moscow (6-3, 6-2). Mike Brewer added a goal for Sandpoint (6-2-1, 5-1-1).

Girls soccer

Kristi Astin scored three times, including a goal in the final minute to preserve Coeur d’Alene’s 3-1 win over visiting Lakeland (6-4-1, 4-4-1) in the IEL. The Vikings improved to 6-4-2, 4-2-2. … Elsewhere, Abby Jensen broke a scoreless tie with a goal at 37 minutes, and Tori Allmaras and Sara Krabacher combined in net as host Sandpoint (9-2-2, 7-0-1) notched a 3-0 win over Moscow (7-4, 4-4).

•Goalkeepers Amber Fuller and Sarah Allen combined for 15 saves to lead St. Maries (1-6-2) to a scoreless tie during a non-league match with the visiting Lake City junior varsity.
