OSU burned by lost recruit

BOISE, Idaho – A kid from Hermiston who Oregon State once asked to be a walk-on turned out to be big trouble for the Beavers.

Jared Zabransky, starting in just his second game, completed 20 of 34 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns, leading Boise State to a 53-34 victory over the Beavers on Friday night.

It was arguably one of the Broncos’ most significant victories, and could propel them into the Top 25. The fact that they won in front of a national television audience didn’t hurt the cause.

Boise State has now won 13 consecutive games, including 20 straight on the blue turf at Bronco Stadium.

Zabransky, once a standout at Hermiston High School, also had 73 yards rushing.
