Senior centers plan open house

Seniors can visit various senior activity centers during a joint open house May 11 from noon to 4 p.m.

“Participants will learn of the many opportunities and benefits that these activity centers can offer individuals age 50 plus,” said Jerry Unruh, director of the Hillyard Senior Center.

Some of the programs include classes, dances, education, support groups and games. Travel opportunities vary at each facility, as do special events.

Entertainment by Project Joy will be offered at many centers.

Participating centers and locations include: East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St.; Hillyard Senior Center, 4001 N. Cook St.; Sinto Senior Center, 1124 W. Sinto Ave.; Southside Senior Activity Center, 3151 S. 27th Ave.; Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland Ave.; Valley Senior Center, 11423 E. Mission Ave,; North Star Senior Center, 8415 N. Wall St.; and Mid City Senior Center, 1222 W. Second Ave.
