Fund-raiser car show planned for Sunday

The Spokesman-Review

Little boys like shiny cars, so it’s no surprise that family and friends of a 5-year-old child with diabetes would throw a fund-raiser that’s a car show.

Bailey’s Brigade Car Show will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the farmers’ market parking lot, in front of Liberty Square, 1421 N. Meadowwood Lane. Cars of all years, makes and models are admitted for free and a People’s Choice Award will be given.

The show is part of an ongoing effort to raise money to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes. Last year the group raised $3,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Bailey Wills’ grandparents and family members formed Bailey’s Brigade after watching his battle with juvenile diabetes. The youngster was diagnosed with the disease at 10 months, uses an insulin pump and is preparing to enter kindergarten.

Liberty Lake Kiwanis will sell food and beverages, with proceeds going to the foundation. Admission to the car show is $5, with no charge for children under age 12.
