Saxony Brown of the Idaho Vandals was named the Western Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week for her performance at the AmeriHost Invitational.

Brown, a setter, was chosen for the All-Tournament team after leading the Vandals to a 2-1 record. Brown recorded a career-high 50 assists in Idaho’s four-game win over West Virginia. She totaled 123 assists and 23 digs in the Vandals’ three matches and averaged 11.2 assists per game.

•Mead High School graduate KeLicia Shorts was named player of the week in the West Coast Conference.

Shorts, who plays middle blocker for the San Francisco Dons, had a .432 hitting percentage and was named the MVP of the Delaware Invitational. Shorts led the Dons to a 3-0 mark.
