GSL game of the week

The Spokesman-Review

Gonzaga Prep girls (3-0) at University (2-0), Friday, 5:45 p.m.

U-Hi’s Titans are starting to get healthy, but still are missing Angie Bjorklund and two other inside players. The Bullpups have run to three easy wins behind the play of senior point guard Corinna O’Brien. But U-Hi should be a tougher test even with the injuries. The non-league game will be preview of the league opener for both in early January.

Area game of the week

Lind-Ritzville boys (1-0) at Northwest Christian (0-0), Saturday, 7 p.m.

Actually, you could pick any of three games this week pitting Liberty, L-R and NWC, the possible top three in the Bi-Co, but these two created a pretty good rivalry last year. NWC finished third at state, L-R was fourth and they played four times, with L-R winning three. Both return first-team, all-league players from last year, NWC’s 6-3 center Karl Richardson and L-R’s Cameron Stevenson, a 6-0 wing who had 34 in the Broncos opening-season win over St. John-Endicott.
