ANALYSIS

If you thought Philadelphia’s quarterbacks were shaky on Monday night, take a peek at No. 1 draft pick Alex Smith’s stats. He’s thrown eight interceptions and no touchdowns. With Ken Dorsey at quarterback, the 49ers battled Seattle to the wire before falling 27-25 three weeks ago. Smith, the 49ers’ quarterback of the future, was modestly productive last week against Arizona, but it doesn’t appear San Francisco can take advantage of Seattle’s injury depleted secondary, which should minimize the impact of talented receiver Brandon Lloyd (seven catches, 119 yards in the first meeting). Aside from the Nov. 20 game in San Francisco, Seattle has pretty much handled sub-.500 squads – seven so far and three more remaining – and there’s no reason to believe that won’t continue today. The Seahawks remain one game in front of Chicago and Carolina in the chase for home-field advantage in the playoffs and those two teams face tougher assignments today than the Hawks.

Prediction: Seahawks 31-13.
