VFW Post holds benefit auction for Katrina relief

The Spokesman-Review

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51 is holding an auction Jan. 8 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Sandy Judge, one of the organizers, said the post is seeking donations of items to be sold, with all proceeds going to hurricane relief.

“We’re not just a bunch of veterans sitting around telling war stories,” Judge said. “We want to help people.”

The public is invited to attend the auction, which begins at 2 p.m. at 300 W. Mission Ave. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be available for a donation.

For more information, call Judge at 362-2523 or the post at 327-9847.
