Thief takes tools, supplies from plumbing trucks

The Spokesman-Review

Someone went shopping Monday night in several trucks owned by United Plumbing. The thief got away with numerous tools and plumbing supplies.

Employees discovered the theft Tuesday morning when they arrived at the company’s storage yard at 11401 E. Montgomery Ave., said Spokane Valley Police Department spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan in a press release.

The burglar used bolt cutters to cut the padlock from the storage yard gate. Locks on the rollup doors of three plumbing trucks also were cut. Among the items stolen were two propane torch tanks bearing the words “Engineering Product.”

The thief left the bolt cutters behind when he fled with the loot, Reagan said. Some personal items also were missing from a company van. Two other companies use the same storage yard, but only the plumbing trucks were targeted.

Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call police at 242-TIPS.
