Brandon McKerney pitched eight innings of six-hit ball Friday night to lead the Aloha Knights to a 3-1 win over the Spokane RiverHawks in West Coast Collegiate League baseball play at Gresham, Ore.

Spokane (3-7, 2-7) dropped its seventh consecutive game while the Knights improved to 9-6, 3-1. The RiverHawks have been outscored 13-2 in their last four games.

The RiverHawks led 1-0 after Will Ayala (Gonzaga University) singled home Brad Wark in the fifth inning.

Aloha scored twice off Scott Parrish in the fifth and once while chasing the Colfax product in the seventh.

Darin Holcomb (GU/Shadle Park High) finished 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Knights.

The teams will wrap up the three-game series with a doubleheader today, starting at noon.

Spokane’s next home series is July 5-7, also against Aloha. Before then, the RiverHawks will play a three-game series at the Bellingham Bells and a non-league doubleheader at Mount Vernon.
