Braves 7, Red Sox 5: At Boston, Kyle Davies overcame the Red Sox and the rain in a scoreless major league pitching debut, and Atlanta beat the Red Sox to end a four-game losing streak. Davies allowed four hits in five innings and left with a 7-0 lead.

Mets 7, Yankees 1: At New York, Jose Reyes drove in four runs and the Mets pounded Randy Johnson (4-3) for 12 hits in a victory over the Yankees at Shea Stadium, evening the Subway Series at a game apiece. Kris Benson (2-1) threw six-plus shutout innings for the Mets.

Rangers 18, Astros 3: At Arlington, Texas, Mark Teixeira hit a three-run shot to highlight a club-record, four-homer second inning, and David Dellucci had two of Texas’ team-high eight home runs in a rout of Houston.

Giants 3, Athletics 2: At San Francisco, Ray Durham singled, doubled and hit a sacrifice fly to extend his hitting streak to 12 games as the Giants edged Oakland.

Tigers 3, Diamondbacks 2 (11): At Detroit, Marcus Thames’ hit with the bases loaded over a drawn-in outfield completed a two-run rally in the 11th and gave the Tigers a victory over Arizona.

White Sox 5, Cubs 3: At Chicago, Paul Konerko broke up Carlos Zambrano’s no-hit bid in the sixth, then delivered a go-ahead, two-run single in the eighth as the White Sox rallied to beat the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Angels 3, Dodgers 1: At Los Angeles, Chone Figgins drove in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning double, and the Angels beat the slumping Dodgers at Dodger Stadium for their fifth win in six games. The loss was the sixth in seven games for the Dodgers.

Cardinals 6, Royals 5: At Kansas City, Mo., Larry Walker hit a three-run homer and also circled the bases on an RBI double and a fielding error, rallying St. Louis past the Royals. St. Louis has won 15 of 16 interleague games against its cross-state rivals, including seven straight.

Brewers 6, Twins 0: At Minneapolis, Doug Davis (5-5) threw a seven-hitter and Carlos Lee drove in four runs to lead Milwaukee past Minnesota. Brady Clark drove in two runs for the Brewers, who had lost six of seven games.

Orioles 7, Phillies 0: At Baltimore, Erik Bedard (5-1) pitched five-hit ball for seven innings to win his fifth straight decision as the Orioles beat Philadelphia.

Indians 5, Reds 3: At Cincinnati, C.C. Sabathia pitched six innings and hit a two-run homer to carry Cleveland past the Reds. Sabathia’s two-run shot off Elizardo Ramirez (0-2) put the Indians ahead to stay in the fourth.

Blue Jays 7, Nationals 0: At Toronto, Roy Halladay pitched seven scoreless innings and Eric Hinske hit a two-run homer to lead the Blue Jays over Washington. Halladay (7-2) allowed four hits and lowered his ERA to 2.84.

Marlins 4, Devil Rays 3: At Miami, pinch-hitter Joe Dillon hit his first major league homer in the bottom of the eighth to lift Florida over Tampa Bay.

National League

Pirates 8, Rockies 3: At Pittsburgh, Humberto Cota drove in four runs and the Pirates roughed up Colorado starter Jason Jennings (1-6) for eight runs in a victory.
