Spokane to host 2B, 1B volleyball

The Spokesman-Review

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has finalized plans for the 2006 State Volleyball Championships, and Spokane is included.

There will be four sites hosting the state’s six classifications on Nov. 10 and 11. The 1B tournament will be at Spokane Falls Community College and the 2B at Eastern Washington University, which has hosted the B volleyball tournament the past few years. The 1A and 2A tournament will be in Yakima at the SunDome, with the 4A and 3A in Kennewick’s Toyota Center.

The WIAA had planned to have an all-classification tournament in the Tacoma Dome in the fall, but the Dome pulled out to host a Dixie Chicks concert. The WIAA still must decide if there will be an all-classification tournament in 2007.
