Giants 2, Dodgers 0: At Los Angeles, Brad Hennessey worked 6 1/3 shutout innings as San Francisco beat Los Angeles. Dodgers cleanup hitter Jeff Kent left the game after being hit in the head in the seventh. There was no word on Kent’s condition. L.A. reliever Tim Hamulack hit Barry Bonds later in the game and was ejected.

Cardinals 8, Reds 7: At St. Louis, Albert Pujols’ third homer of the game, a go-ahead, two-run shot in the ninth inning, gave the Cardinals a win over Cincinnati.

Padres 4, Braves 3: At Atlanta, Brian Giles sparked a comeback from a three-run deficit with his first homer of the year as San Diego beat the Braves.

Cubs 7, Pirates 3: At Pittsburgh, Todd Walker and Aramis Ramirez hit two-run homers as Chicago beat the Pirates.

Mets 9, Brewers 3: At New York, Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer as the Mets beat Milwaukee.

Nationals 7, Marlins 5: At Miami, Ryan Church hit a pair of two-run homers as Washington beat Florida.

Phillies 1, Rockies 0: At Denver, Brett Myers combined with two relievers on a seven-hit shutout, and Ryan Howard homered as Philadelphia beat Colorado.

Astros 8, Diamondbacks 5: At Phoenix, Lance Berkman had three hits and three RBIs as Houston beat Arizona.
