Tuesday’s results

The Spokesman-Review

Indians 7, Angels 6: At Milwaukee, C.C. Sabathia gave up three runs – one earned – and struck out seven in seven innings to lead Cleveland past Los Angeles. The Indians played a home opener of sorts after sitting through a weekend’s worth of snow without playing a game – under the retractable roof at Miller Park, some 450 miles away from Jacobs Field.

Royals 6, Blue Jays 3: At Toronto, Alex Gordon hit his first career home run and Zack Greinke allowed one run and six hits in six innings to help Kansas City top the Blue Jays.

Tigers 3, Orioles 1: At Baltimore, Nate Robertson took a shutout into the eighth inning, and a throwing error by Brian Roberts provided Detroit with its first two runs in a victory over the Orioles.

Rangers 12, Devil Rays 9: At Arlington, Texas, Frank Catalanotto hit a three-run homer in a seven-run third and Texas defeated Tampa Bay. Kenny Lofton reached base five times, going 3 for 3 with a homer, three runs scored and three RBIs for Texas.

Yankees 10, Twins 1: At Minneapolis, Alex Rodriguez homered in his fourth straight game to back a solid performance from Andy Pettitte as New York topped Minnesota. Pettitte gave up four hits in six shutout innings for his 150th victory with the Yankees, his first since 2003.

Athletics 2, White Sox 1: At Oakland, Calif., Mark Ellis singled off the wall in left with the bases loaded in the ninth after pinch-hitter Todd Walker tied the game on an RBI single, lifting the Athletics over Chicago. After Walker’s single against Bobby Jenks, Travis Buck was intentionally walked to bring up Ellis.
