CCS men rout Thunderbirds

The Community Colleges of Spokane men’s basketball team came alive in the second half and routed Highline 73-50 in a non-conference game Saturday at Spokane Community College.

Matthew Dorr scored 14 points and Jon Clift and Robert Lippman added 12 apiece for the Sasquatch, who outscored the Thunderbirds 53-29 in the second half after trailing by a point at halftime.

Eric Beal and Jordan Gregg also reached double figures for CCS, scoring 10 points each.

The Sasquatch held a 32-24 advantage in rebounds over Highline and committed nine less turnovers.

Cody Thueringer tallied a game-high 17 points for Highline. Coby Gibler added 14 points and five rebounds for the Thunderbirds.

CCS improved to 13-1 on the season while Highline fell to 5-6.
