Library Signing Babies – a program to help families to communicate with their babies before the children can talk – will again be offered at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, 201 E. Harrison Ave., on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Signing Babies is designed for the parents and caregivers of hearing children, ages newborn to 2, who want to learn to communicate using American Sign Language.

According to Russ Patterson, Interpreter for the Deaf, who teaches the class, babies who are using their hands to point at objects are normally ready to learn ASL.

The class is free but donations to the Deaf Club will be accepted. Participants also receive a 50-word glossary of ASL.
