Mountain bikers to roll into Farragut

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Thousands will be pounding the pavement during this weekend’s Bloomsday, but several dozen others will be riding the trails at Farragut State Park during the Cyclo de Mayo mountain bike festival.

The event runs Saturday and Sunday at the state park near Bayview and is sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene-based Lactic Acid Heads mountain biking group. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and the event begins at 10 a.m. On Sunday the event starts at 10 a.m. Registration is $20 in advance and $30 during the event.

The festival features a variety of rides and skills clinics on park trails, including time trials, a full-moon ride, a vintage mountain bike race, a poker run and a bike-in movie theater, said John Ely, who is helping with organizing. The group is meeting and camping at the park’s Thimbleberry Campground. For more information, call (208) 640-0190 or visit www.lacticacidheads.com.
