Giants 3, Nationals 2: At Washington, Kevin Correia had his longest outing as a starter in more than two years in San Francisco’s victory over the Nationals.

Phillies 9, Marlins 2: At Miami, Kyle Kendrick took a fastball off his right arm trying to bunt in the second inning, but he still pitched seven innings, and Philadelphia extended its winning streak to a season-best six games by beating Florida.

Mets 7, Braves 1: At Atlanta, Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer to lead New York to a win over the Braves, stopping the East-leading Mets’ losing streak at five games.

Brewers 3, Pirates 2: At Milwaukee, Yovani Gallardo pitched seven sharp innings and hit his second homer of the season, helping the Brewers beat Pittsburgh.

Cardinals 8, Reds 5: At St. Louis, Rick Ankiel’s sixth-inning grand slam powered the Cardinals over Cincinnati as Tony La Russa passed Red Schoendienst as the winningest manager in Cardinals history.

Padres 6, Dodgers 4: At San Diego, Josh Bard singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth as the Padres beat Los Angeles.

Rockies 7, Diamondbacks 3 (10): At Phoenix, Cory Sullivan hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, then scored the go-ahead run on a 10th-inning error as Colorado rallied to beat Arizona.
