Mother, child reunited after bus leaves her

Associated Press

ROSEBURG, Ore. – A 5-year-old California boy was reunited with his mother after Oregon State Police troopers found him at a bus station in Roseburg.

Troopers say the mother had gotten off the bus to use the bathroom when it stopped in Grants Pass.

But the boy remained aboard, and the bus left without the mother, resulting in a 911 call to police.

State police Sgt. Lynn Withers was waiting in Roseburg when the bus arrived. The child waited with troopers until his mother caught the next bus.

The woman and her son are from Vacaville, Calif., but were not identified.
