Monday’s results

Cubs 12, Pirates 3: At Pittsburgh, Aramis Ramirez homered and drove in three runs and Chicago won their third in a row to retain the majors’ best record. Kosuke Fukudome drove in four runs with a sacrifice fly, a two-run single during a five-run fifth inning that made it 10-1 and an RBI double. Jim Edmonds had three extra-base hits, a triple and two doubles.

Mets 9, Astros 1: At New York, Carlos Delgado hit a pair of three-run homers and Mike Pelfrey pitched complete game, leading the Mets over Houston. Pelfrey came within two outs of his first major league shutout.

Rockies 4, Giants 2: At San Francisco, Jeff Francis got his first victory in more than two months, Yorvit Torrealba homered and Colorado beat the Giants. Troy Tulowitzki had two hits and an RBI, and Ian Stewart and Garrett Atkins had two hits each for the Rockies.

Phillies 5, Dodgers 0: At Philadelphia, Brett Myers tossed seven gritty innings, Jimmy Rollins had three hits and two RBIs, and the Phillies defeated Los Angeles. Myers allowed nine hits, struck out eight and walked three.

Padres 4, Diamondbacks 2: At San Diego, Jody Gerut hit a two-run homer off Jon Rauch in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Padres beat Arizona. Luis Rodriguez singled with two outs in the ninth for his third hit and Gerut hit the next pitch from Rauch into the right-field bleachers.
