Kelsi Jacobson could always score points. This year, she’s doubled the amount.

Entering the week, the young Knights player found herself leading the Greater Spokane League.

It’s been seven years since an EV player (Sarah Shogren) matched her 16.0 average.

“I think she’s always had the ability to score,” said first-year coach Rob Collins. “I had her on junior varsity as a freshman and she averaged 17 or 18 a game. So I thought going in that Kelsi could average double figures for sure.”

Last year, the 5-foot-9 wing led EV with an 8.7 average during the regular season for the first-time State 3A qualifiers. This year she’s missed double figures just twice.

“She works hard, played a lot of basketball this summer,” said Collins. “When there were open gyms, she was shooting.”
